Captured along the Intracoastal Waterway in Nokomis, Florida, this original photograph transforms rippling water into an abstract composition of color and motion. Vibrant blues, golds, and reds shimmer across the surface as reflections from nearby lights scatter and reform with the movement of the tide.

Deep contrast between shadow and illumination heightens the sense of rhythm within the water, creating a dynamic interplay of light that feels both spontaneous and intentional. What begins as simple reflections gradually reveals an energetic field of color and form.

I captured this moment from across the canal near the well-known Pop’s Sunset Grill, where neon lights danced across the water while live music drifted through the evening air. Before long, the music carried me from behind the camera to the dance floor.
